People enter our lives freely,
at the moment when they're needed.
they exist there for an indeterminate time,
before disappearing back from whence they came;
or remaining, at our side, forever more,
becoming a true and valued friend.
to those we consider a friend,
we give of ourselves freely;
all they require and yet more.
sharing support and kindess when they're needed,
promising to be there when the fearful moments came;
for them there's no limit to our time.
When illness arrives, it doesn't care about the time.
When all we need is a good friend,
to bring hope and happiness when they came
into our life to save us, and freely
they take care of all that's needed;
and showing us they are something more.
and friendships we always are seeking more,
people with whom we don't mind sharing our time.
those moments of socialization being what is needed,
yes! We seek out the company of a good friend.
with whom pleasure always comes freely;
And we're always glad they came.
And those moments that into our lives came,
the happy times; we can't help but wish for more.
but the days, weeks, months pass far too freely;
and everything we have to do, it's hard to find time
but when we spy a close and dear friend,
it's never hard to see where we're needed.
But those who appear only when needed
and only exist during the moment they came
Maybe never really becoming a friend.
a distraction from ourselves nothing more.
We never can see that at the time,
and hope for more, welcome them to our life freely.
How will they be when needed, stay for the crisis nothing more?
And when that moment came; do they share with us their time?
Always hoping for a friend; to make our smiles come back freely.
